What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?

After my husband and I got married, we were looking for a gym that we could attend together and that would challenge us. We had both been members of a big gym where we would arrive together and both go our separate ways. I felt intimidated at these types of gyms to go into the free weight section to do heavy lifting. I felt like I would go to the gym and just do the same thing everyday.  We decided to try CrossFit and both instantly loved it because it was competitive, variable, and we could do the workouts together.IMG_1602

What was your first impression & How has that changed?

My first impression was that it was impossible and really, really hard.. But in reality, everything can be modified to your standards. The workouts our tough but you can get through them. Not every CrossFit athlete looks like the people competing in the Games. Normal everyday people can do CrossFit. That is why we love it.

What was your first “bright spot”(PR or major accomplishment)?

I have been doing CrossFit for over 3 years so it is hard for me to remember exactly what my first major accomplishment was. But I would say that I did compete in a competition after my first year and got 3rd place which I was pretty excited about.

What are you working on now?

I am currently 35 weeks pregnant so my goals are just to stay in shape and prepare for labor! Again, everything can be modified so It makes it possible for me to continue CrossFit safely throughout my pregnancy.

What’s your favorite Seminole CrossFit memory?

Hard to choose. I would say overall, anytime we do events where we all get together to have a good time outside the gym. Most every year we all go to Brews around the Zoo and have a really good time.
