What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?

I started CrossFit about two years ago with a deal through Groupon. I had seen the CrossFit games on TV and felt super lazy and out of shape, so figured I would give it a try. And it didn’t hurt that it was close to home.

What was your first impression & How has that changed?

First impression was: Am I really going to continue with this torture?? Yet, here I am two years later and going more often than I did when I first started. I had gone to traditional gyms, but was never really able to stay focused or effectively organize my workout time. Now, I am doing things that I had never even imagined of doing and am stronger than I ever thought possible.

What was your first “bright spot”(PR or major accomplishment)?

While weightlifting is a big part of CrossFit, so is cardio. So, I would say my first “bright spot” was running my first 5k last year. I have never been a fan of running, and I’m still not, but completing a 5k without stopping felt pretty amazing.

What are you working on now?
What am I not working on is the question. Two things that I am hoping will finally click this year are Overhead Squats and Double Unders.

What’s your favorite Seminole CrossFit memory?
I would have to say competing in 3 competitions with fellow Seminole CrossFit athletes and feeling like I am a part of something.
